MEET OUR TEAM

Dr. Erin Cantwell is the owner and Medical Director of Brandt Veterinary Clinic, a well-respected veterinary practice located in the Nokomis area. With over a decade of experience in veterinary medicine, Dr. Cantwell has established herself as a knowledgeable and compassionate veterinarian.

A graduate of Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Cantwell has a passion for preventative medicine and client education. She is committed to the well-being and happiness of her staff and is dedicated to making her patients feel at ease during their visits.

In addition to her professional pursuits, Dr. Cantwell has a range of personal interests. She enjoys making her friends and family laugh, staying active, and indulging her love of interior design. She is also a proud Fear Free Certified Professional and has led Brandt Veterinary Clinic to become the first and only Fear Free Certified Practice in Sarasota County.

With her combination of professional expertise and personal warmth, Dr. Cantwell is the ideal veterinarian for those seeking the very best in veterinary care for their pets.

Dr. Haylie Hendershot is an Associate Veterinarian at Brandt Veterinary Clinic, where she has been a valued member of the team since 2015. With over 20 years of experience in the veterinary field, Dr. Hendershot has a wealth of knowledge and expertise to offer her patients.

A graduate of Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Hendershot formed close friendships with many of her colleagues, including Dr. Cantwell. As a Fear Free Certified Professional, Level 3, Dr. Hendershot is committed to making her patients feel as comfortable as possible during their visits to the clinic.

When she’s not caring for her patients, Dr. Hendershot enjoys spending time with her three beloved pets – a greyhound named Seth, a Pomeranian named Hawley, and a dachshund named SunshineBunny. A self-described homebody, she has a love for horror movies, fantasy novels, and spending time in her hammock outdoors.

With her compassion, expertise, and dedication to her patients, Dr. Hendershot is an asset to the Brandt Veterinary Clinic team and a trusted provider of veterinary care for pet owners in the Nokomis area.

Fun Fact: I grew up helping out on my Mennonite cousins’ farms. I even helped a few cows give birth.

Born in South Texas, Seth moved to Florida to race in Palm Beach. After two seasons on the track, Seth retired to Sarasota, where he now lives with his mommy Dr. Hendershot and his much shorter sister Piper the dachshund.

Seth enjoys chasing (but not returning) balls, long walks, and coming to Brandt every day to see all of his favorite people and furry friends.

Morgan was Brandt Veterinary Clinic’s official greeter and mascot, and he took his job very seriously. Morgan was a Lab-Chow mix (as best we can figure) and loved coming to work every day.

Morgan would likely come to greet you and your pet because he believed everyone was his friend! Morgan had his own special treats up front, he had a food allergy, and he could be very persistent if he thought you’d give him a treat!

When Morgan was not busy greeting our clients, he enjoyed napping, running on the beach, and rolling in the grass. He had Adequan and laser therapy to thank for his ability to continue running and playing like a dog half his age!After a two-year battle with cancer, Morgan passed away on 12/22/16.
